i have a pny 7600gs 256mb and they only sell the 512mb verison of it now will it work

you can get another brand of the 7600gs that still sells the 256MB version of it. As long as you have newer drivers, mixing brands will work as long as the cards are the same type (both 7600GS's) Speeds won't matter as they will automatically configure the clock speeds to match each other. I think you should look into either eVGA or XFX for another brand instead of wasting your money on a 512MB version of that card. The 7600GS isn't strong enough to fully utilise 512MB of memory in a single card, musch less why would you pay that extra to not even able to try and use it when it has to match the other 256MB. Save some money and get a better brand thats about the same as your's.

Well of course I am assuming you have an SLI compatible motherboard, but yes it will work. However what it will do is simply disable the extra 256MB of memory on the new card. I would personally recommend you buy a 256MB 7600GS made by a different brand, it will be cheaper, and it will still work. No sense in spending the extra money for the 512 version if you are not going to get the full 512 to work.

I belive so, as long as ur motherboard can support dual channel video.
