I know that there has lately been an issue about N. Korea, testing bombs and things. A few months ago, there was talk that the U.S. was warning them about testing a bomb that could possibly reach us here. However, the most recent news is all about Japan, S.Korea, and I believe Russia, warning N.Korea about the testing. So, I was wondering if something does happen, would the US be more likely to just let Japan, S.Korea, Russia, and maybe the U.N. handle the issue..or would is it likely that the U.S. would also be involved in this as well? Any chance that we might just practice neutrality on this issue, and let the rest of them handle it?

North Korea is strictly China's to deal with. If NK does anything aggressive China will stomp them in a second. We can't do anything to NK because:

1. Bush has weakened our military.
2. Bush has wasted too much money.
3. We can't do anything aggressive in China's corner of the world anymore than NK can.

The whole world knows that we cannot and will not do anything, so Bush's trash talking just adds stupidity to the list of his weaknesses.

With the slow action and little response the US has basically taken a neutral stance with N Korea. If we do end up involved it will be on a limited basis. Look more for a larger presence in the area with the Pacific Fleet.

No chance will we practice neutrality.

REASON: South Korea and Japan are major allies(Japan is still abiding by one of the peace treaties of WW2 on how they were not allowed to move their war ships outside a certain range without the US permission, now that is loyalty)

North Korea and Iran will both have nuclear weapons. Hard to say they shouldn't when the U.S. president has called them part of the axis of evil. They must think of that as a threat and act accordingly. They were called part of the axis of evil before 9/11.

I've never heard of the U.S. abstaining from a war. We'll sanction North Korea, like we did Japan before Pearl Harbor, and they'll retaliate.

I think that's very likely... it seems like Bush is only concerned with Iran now and Darfur, N. Korea, China, the E.U. and space aliens could all get into a huge war and he would be like... "we'll just let the U.N. handle it... the real threat is Iran"...

tunnel vision...

North Korea just wants to hold the world up for aid money. I predict that they will go ahead with the test and the rest of the world will just whine...nothing more.

Unless we are absolutely forced to go into this situation we won't. There is no oil their, so we really aren't interested. If they had oil we would have been there already.
