I am a Royals fan. I wish KC was an 1/4 as successful as the Yankees have been. How can you hate something you wish you had?

I can understand fans of teams in their division (Boston, Toronto, Tampa Bay & Baltimore), but fans of others teams, I don't understand.

I think more than anything its the media coverage that gets under your skin. It seems that is all they talk about on FOX and ESPN. The Yankees are constantly hyped as being superior to the 29 other teams. Really it's just the Yankees of today (meaning the late 90s and early 2000s) that are hard to stomach. You have to respect the franchise for what it once was and the great players who have played for them.

The Yankees are successful much like George W Bush is successful, through cheating and lies. The Yankees are run by a convicted felon (George Steinbrenner - notice the similar first name?) - although he was pardoned by Reagan (George H W Bush was Vice President). They buy all of their talented players at a price so high that the players own/old team cannot compete with and remain successful. the Yankees have 2 players (Giambi and Sheffield) liked to steroids. The Yankees are a prime example of everything that is WRONG with baseball, and are pure EVIL.

I do not hate the Yankees. George Steinbrenner is palying by the rules; most fans wish that their team's owners would spend money as freely as he does.

I do get tired of the hero worship given the Yankees by the east cost media (Fox and especially ESPN). You would think that major league baseball had only 2 teams (Yankees & Red Sox) and the rest were just schedule fillers.

I don't hate the Yankees nearly as much as I hate their owner and their obnoxious fans, who think post-season success is some kind of birthright or something. There has always been an air of arrogance about everyone connected with the Yankees.

I am a Red Sox fan and I don't hate the Yankees. They have a very good team. I just like to see the Sox beat them

Because i am sick of them. I am sick of the hype. I am sick of seeing stupid NY hats on all the rappers and kids these days. I am sick of Joe Torre and Derek Jeter. I am sick of the bandwagon that people jump on because the Yankees are "a good team" and "they win Championships". Of course you can buy a 'Championship team' if you are Steinbrenner; but you can't do it when the Detroit Tigers stand in your way in 2006. GO TIGERS!

"I" believe that a lot of people seem to hate the Yankees because they have been so very successful and many people don't like that much success(especially if it takes success away from their favorite team)!

people are jealous
and most people feel the yankees are successful unfairly, because they have so much money, they can buy pretty much any players they want, while most teams have to spend their money wisely
