I'm not sure how to tell the gender of an iguana, but I know that when they reach sexual maturity, male iguanas turn an orangish tint.
With snakes, you can probe or pop. Popping you can do yourself with some practice. You, with some light pressure, roll your thumb towards the snake's vent. This is done from the tip of the tail towards the vent. Probing can only be done by a professional. In the female, the probe will only go a little in. In a male, it will go about 3 times as far in.
Good luck!

snakes are pretty easy though there's only two ways that I know how to sex lizards. Snakes: the female has a short tail and the male has a long tail. as for lizzards, they have a cloaca and their sex organ is inside. on a bigger lizzard, you can very carefully feel and find, there's also the chance of actulley opening the cloaca and looking but not always possible. there's always the good ol x-ray that can help sex the critter. hope this helps

They have to be "probed" by a professional(or veterinarian). This is where they push on the base of the vent and see if anything pops out. You can tell a male iguana when it gets older. The circle plates on the side of their head are much larger than the female's.

To tell the sex of a snake you have to get it probed.
this is when u take a small needle like instrument and stick it in the snakes anal opening. the sex is determined by how much of the prob goes into the snake.

hi, im not sure about the igunana but female snakes have a much longer tail than males and this is how you distinguish them. you need a professiona to chek it out to tell tho as sometimes its not clear whether the tail part is long enuf to be female or not. xxx

Hello there,
my answer to your question is that the male reptiles move more than the female ones... so you just have to compare... i know it's sounds funny :p
