You've summed it up in one line sport. Its rude to stare. Temptation isn't really it. Its lack of manners. All too common with most of today's youth and a large portion of the 30-something generation. Poor upbringing and embracing poor manners.
A lot of this started in the late 60's early 70's with the feminist movement. Because of women sneering if a man held a door open for them, gave up a bus seat or pulled a chair out for them, men became lax and tossed proper manners out the window. Both sexes were responsible in this situation.
I really believe that it just mushroomed from there. Staring at a naked person walking down the street is accepted. No doubt because it isn't so much as good looking...just who the hell walks through Time Square like that? Well...Time Square might be a an everyday occurrence but you get my drift.
We all like to see a n attractive woman or a handsome man. But to bore your eyes into them is rude and quite frankly, can be misinterpreted as confrontational.
So put those mother-scratching peepers on low beam moron! Save your staring for reading a book on proper etiquette!

So what are you actually saying in the question?
That you can't look a female in the eyes at all?
Pretty pathetic.
Looking at girls or guys is natural and any girl that would dump a guy for looking at a girl may as well dump him for staring at a nice car. Looking isnt an indication that he will stray.
Self control is to stop yourself from straying, not to stop staring .

a guy or woman's stare can placed across many messages. As you regarded at him staring, what did you spot? exchange into it ask your self? Disdain? perchance lust? There would desire to be many motives he exchange into observing you, and except you seek advice from him, you may on no account discover out why. Now, being that he exchange into not effective to you, you will desire to probable in basic terms neglect the entire element and circulate on alongside with your existence, and what extra helpful thank you to try this, than to discover a guy who's extra helpful looking and treats you like a woman?

Dealing with the public as much as I have and will, Ive always wondered the real answer for this very question. One day while walking with a Priest, he told me the following; "men arent staring at a woman but rather enjoying the fine creative artwork of our Lord, in so much as you only look once otherwise more than once may constitute stalking". So whose to say its wrong to admire the exquisite artwork of the Lord. Of course man cant look only once. But with all that fine artwork out there, who could only look once?

Alas, I am sure it is in the hormones.
I am guilty and I am now 53 and happily married to a rather attractive young lady.
She understands that I can't really help it. A technical term would be 'Pavolovian' -- as in the dogs.
A deep ingrained male trait that is not meant to be disrespectful.
I apologize on behalf of us men. Sorry.
But girls stare too.
SMILE. Enjoy.
All the best.

I'm sorry you were "slapped" but it sounds like you were raised to RESPECT people! That's a GOOD thing! although I think most men just get caught up when they see a "pretty woman" I would prefer if they just gava a subtle look, That's what I do... I don't STARE I think it's rude! Nor do I like to be stared at!

To appreciate beauty is no crime. To stare is creepy though.
Everyone looks, but you seem to notice the 'taken' guys. Why are you looking so intently at guys anyway, shouldnt you be looking at the girls?
See, the thing is you cannot censor what you see. you cant have mental blurs covering everyone of beauty. so its up to the person to see, then move on.
I bet you notice big breasts before faces.
see, its a natural haibt. But one that can be controlled to provide discretion

I actually see nothing wrong with staring, whether you are in a relationship or not. My husband looks at women, I look at women and men, and we even talk about hot women when we see them. In addition, I enjoy being stared at. It's nice, not disrespectful. Sorry, but your dad was wrong.

Lets put it this way, how about women who are in a relationship still wear non existing tops to get men to stare at them? How about men dumping such women instead?
