If anyone could just tell me the movie and the scene I'd really appreciate it because I need some ideas.

I have one and only one real favorite in this category.

2001 A Space Odyssey

The extreme silence mixed with music in nearly any space scene always seems overpowering to me. When the ship approached the space station really sticks in my mind. A review of the whole film should give you some very good ideas. I hope your teacher will recognize silence as an effective use of sound.

Hey, good luck on the presentation. Regardless of your choice, you will pick a winner.

Depending on what kind of "sound" you need:
Special Effects: Pearl Harbor, when the Japanesse are attacking (lots of planes flying and gun fire)
No dialogue: I'm sure there's a scene in Cast Away where Tom Hanks doesn't talk.
or Maybe - Predator, towards the end, all you can here is the clicking of the Predator when he's trying to find Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Music: probably some kind of horror movie, but I can't think of anything right now.

Jurassic Park! The sound engineers recorded hundreds of hrs. of odd stuff, everything from driving over dirt roads (slowed down for sequences like the moving of the raptor cage at the beginning) to the combining of a lion, alligator and angry, baby elephant to produce the deafening T-rex scream!....unbelievable!

The T Rex attack in Jurassic Park is great.

Gladiator: 1st battle in the coliseum.
