the location of the pain would help narrow down some of the possible diagnosis for her pain. the term "electrical shock sensation" is usually from Morton's neuroma or a condition called tarsal tunnel syndrom. there is a very informative website we like to use in our podiatry office, myfootshop.com. they offer articles, discussion forum with a doc and products to help the person treating at home. use the source as direct link to the articles and the site. good luck, tool around the site if the description of the Morton's neuroma doesn't fit her symptoms and location of pain.

could be a bone spur. they are very painful and can be corrected by surgery.

Could be a nerve or circulation problem, take her to her Dr.
