It is completely normal.
It is great to have a family member as a friend.
I have cousins that I do not even know. In my opinion I have 1.5 cousins. I have one cousin that calls or stops by my house from time to time. I could depend on her, and she could depend on me. Her brother on the other hand. We might have gotten to the of being cousins 2.
My "dad's" side of the family. I know I have one cousin named Randall. (something like that). His sister passed away in a car accident when we were younger. My mom's brother. I have not seen his kids in YEARS. At least 13 years.

Yes family should be friends as well, that makes for a good family relationship. Parents are a bit different because they have authority over you, though. "All the kids I knew who had cool parents ended up getting into really hard drugs" ---Dennis Miller

As long as he's just a friend that's cool, I think marrying your cousin or even messing around with your cousin is just plain wrong, BUT to be friends...That's GREAT!

It is fine and a nice thing too that you and your cousin are friends. We may not always like our family but friends are of our own choosing.

That's great!!!! It's like sisters being friends... so many times family don't get along to the point that they don't even speak to each other... it's twice as good... he's your friend and your blood...

Friendship among your family members is best as long as you remember to keep loyal to the family and don't inbreed.(that means kissing/touching too)
