This person thinks she is in charge and it's getting to me I need to
learn how to deal with this person. I just started working there with
her. I have heard from the other employees that she has gotten into fights with them? She was also training a co worker and the
co-worker quit because of her. I have asked my supervisor about this situation but apparently she does not care; My own supervisor
forgot to tell me that our first meeting was at 7:30 am and no one told me and the director just gave me a look? I like my work and I don't want to create tensions there. What can I do? I need a positive feedback please!! I want to make this job work

The problem is that many times this kind of behavior is encouraged. I like employees that take charge and prove to me they don't need a babysitter.

That said, you have something on your side, and that is that you "want to make the job work." This means you are going to spend a little bit of time figuring out how the office dynamics work. If your boss allows that kind of latitude that an employee can show some initiative, then why not be that employee training the newbie? Newbies are awesome, for a while they look up to the first people that show them the ropes around the office.

If you can do that, then whenever a decision has to be made and the boss is not around, they will look up to you. This is the kind of thing a boss will notice when it is time to promote from within instead of bringing more management from the outside.

Stay away from the fights, those things have a great tendency to take care of themselves. The general idea here is to push your own agenda without stepping on toes.

Even if you are new, you have your rights. Wait after your 90 days probation is up. The supervisor is liable for what goes on in her unit. Be blunt. That always works for me. Remind her she is not in charge of you. Your supervisor sounds a bit incompetent. The director could have asked you about your absence at the meeting...perhaps the director is a bit incompetent too. COMMUNICATION is key in a smooth running business office and clearly these people fall short.

Keep it real with her and let her know how you feel,I had a situation like that at Home Depot and this guy is older and he had just started there and was trying to tell everybody what to do and I wasn't having it.So one day he thought he could do it to me and I told him that's his job and for him to do it himself and he's not my boss.He was mad and he tried getting loud and saying he's not listening and blahblahblah all in my face,I told him I was the wrong one to be messing with and if he don't get out my face I was going to punch him in it.My bosses knew I don't take crap from nobody and can't nobody talk to me any kind of way and everybody looked at him like he got what he deserve.So after that he came and apologize to me and said he would stay away from me so that's how I put my foot down,but he left me alone.

If your supervisor does not listen to you about it go to your supervisor's boss. and explain it as a question.... like "What Should I do?" or use this same Q. you can't loose your job

Just say, "thanks for the suggestion, I'll consider that when I make up my mind" or something like that. Also, if she tells you to do something tell her, "(bosses name) told me to do it this way but I'll consider your suggestion when I'm doing it". Be nice, don't stir things up. People probably already know what is going on and they will respect you for handling it so diplomatically.

Just tell her direct that she is not your supervisor and you and her are equal consequently she cannot tell you what to do. You have to be assertive rather than aggressive. be direct and don't hesitate.
