Hey Alexa,

3 Yards, by 54".

At the web site, This veil is 3 yards (275 centimeters) long and 54 inches (138 centimeters) wide at its widest point. It is a perfect half circle in shape. If you are less than 5 feet 5 inches in height (about a meter and a half), you may find it easier to work with a somewhat smaller veil, perhaps 2.5 yards (229 centimeters) long and 45 inches (114 centimeters) wide.

The standard is a rectangle that measures 3 yards long (273 cm) x 45" wide (114 cm), which is the with of most fabrics.

Circular ones are specialty veils, the technique for these is usually taught in special workshops, as opposted to regular bellydance classes.

I strongly recommend that you invest in a good veil made of magician's silk (also called magic silk). It's very difficult to find a fabric light enough to do BD veilwork by yourself. When I started I wasted a lot of money on fabric that appeared to be light and airy in the store. A good quality veil dances by itself and makes you look much better. There are a few reputable sellers online, it's worth the investment.

Happy dancing!
