I understand people believe in gun control. I think this may be regional. I live in the west where many people are armed. If you are for or against guns can you tell me which coast or region you are from? I am thinking this is really regional. This is a constutional right and I think people sometimes confuse it as being pollitical. Also can someone from CA tell me the view out there.

Well people I am from the wild west and people will label me as a libral. I am pro gun. I grew up with them. I was raised with gun safety. It means keeping them away from kids. Training them not to point them when you are not intending to shoot them at whatever you are pointing them at not even a toy gun. I have shot all kinds of guns. Muzzel loader, pistel, shot gun, you name it except a machine gun. I do not choose to own one, but think others should be able to provided the are reasponsible and not a felon. They need to be safe about it. I have ran into them as a child playing hide and go seek and that is not right. I also sat on on them because people hide them or are irresponsible about where they place them in parts of cars or on sofa cusions. In my home they were handled very cafefully by my father and I leaned respect for them.

I guess a few people are really loud and disrespect others and make this bad. Please realize that this is a regional issue and not all librals or democrats are anti gun. It may be some, but not all. Please realize it is a constiutional right. It is someone who wants control who wants to take away constutional rights.

Thanks for asking the question. From my personal experience knowing people in the east and even in CA that are avid gun owners and shooters that it is not regional and believe it is purely political or perhaps philosophical.
The only gun control I believe in is my trigger finger, it is the safest way. The purpose of the 2nd amendment was to allow us a chance to defend ourselves from an oppressive government, much like we have today, and when any member of congress starts wanting to make gun control laws I look at them as an enemy of the constitution because their intent is clear, to make us subjects not free citizens.
We have more gun laws than we need. We need enforcement of the laws that we have not more laws. Criminals do not obey laws so creating more laws is stupid and naive.
I grew up in West Texas, was given my first rifle at age 8 and now live in CO half the year and in the Caribbean the remainder.

Have MANY guns both hunting style as well as assault weapons We live in Missouri and see all the garbage going on to the left an right of us over gun control. It does not matter what the weapon is or how many bullets it holds or how fast they shoot. The gun will not hurt or kill anyone with out the trigger being depressed. The problem is the idiots that they are finding there way to.. If you want to point fingers at the problem it the people who sell the guns to people who should not have or posses them. Further more you should shake your finger at the government officials who do NOTHING when the illegal sales are pointed out.. I know of one instant that I was part of where a subject went in to a gun store and bought a weapon with a letter stating he was law enforcement and buying it for use on the job in his city. The store owner did no check to see if this was legit.. ATF was contacted about the situation and did NOTHING!! Now there is a 9mm unregistered pistol with law enforcement magazines out ther in the hands of a shady person.. Who WAS NOT a police officer nor could they ever be one. So where does the true problem lye. I would say in the officials!!
And remember people if you have children. Keep your weapons lock up an in a safe location. Them little rug rats always will find them and they honestly know no better..

I am from Oklahoma USA. I have lived most of my life in Oklahoma or Texas but I have lived in many different. I am absolutely opposed to gun control I believe that it is a natural right to own a gun. This should not even be a political question. Even ultra liberal Allen Dershowitz agrees with me, If the grass-eater liberals want to ban gun they should have to change the constitution. The only thing good gun control ever accomplished was give the Republicans the majority in Congress

I believe Gun Control means hitting what you aim at.
It's usually big city folks and Socialists that advocate gun control.
They haven't figured out that if you take away all the law abiding citizen's guns, the criminals will have a heyday.
Having an armed citizenary is a good way to ensure that the Government doesn't get too intrusive and criminals may think twice about breaking into your house if they know you might have a gun.
If we are disarmed, it will only be a matter of time before we lose all our other freedoms.

I'm from MA. I believe that there should be restrictions on getting guns but that they should be legal to own and carry. I believe the Bill of Rights gives you the right to carry a gun for your own protection and the protection of others. The founders of America had to rise up against their own government and were aware that some day another revolution might be necessaary. It is in the spirit of America that everyone has the option to take their own protection into their hands.

I am from the Southwest in the U.S., but live in Central America. I have yet to see a gun where I'[m living, not to say someone cannot get one from some other criminal, but the culture here does not mess with them. If there were a way to insure nobody in the U.S. would have a gun, I'd be for gun control, but this will never happen. I think you're absolutely right about it being regional.

You know what? Gun control is the one thing that I'm with the right on. I don't believe in it. I think what makes guns more dangerous in the home these days is not their salience but a decline in personal responsibility, especially in regards to the actions of children.
Oh I'm from San Jose, CA.

Very, very limited gun control. I just don't want guns in the hands of felons. I'm from a middle size town in the middle west.

Democrats believe that only the government should have guns.
Democrats don't think that the common people should have the right to own firearms.
So----where ever you find a Democrat, you'll find someone who's voting to take away your guns.
