Depends if I'm in my Machievellian or my Boy Scout mode. I'll always try and win honest as a first option. Then, if I need to lie and cheat to achieve objectives that put me and mine ahead of people we determine deserve it, I can do that without turning a hair or feeling anything but good. Tend not to go that way unless I feel I've been unfairly treated though. Never, ever, cheat when playing anything with my friends, cos I reckon it's better to lose graciously than win unfairly.
Hmm...Fairness seems to be the key here - if I think someone deserves to lose, I'll do whatever I can to ensure that happens. Takes a hell of a lot to click me over from Goody-Two-Shoes to devil incarnate though ;o)

That question reminds me of the time when I use to play agaist my brother.
Cheating makes me feel unsatisfied. I need to get that high when I win. Bending the rules robs me of that. That is how I feel. I grew up in a very competitive household (My brother and I are very close in age). We actually were evenly matched.
HOWEVER, this one kid who came over to play with us always acted like a wanker. I was glad to cheat against him. Nope.... no feeling of remorse to this day.
Currently, I almost never cheat (lol). Sometimes I am spoofing my wife, or it's someone who is a wanker/nitwit (Noob forever).
I learned in my childhood that a defeat only means "this" time. The next game may be my victory (and that high).

I only cheat if I know I'm playing with a cheater. Then...may the best cheater win. And it's usually me. And yes, I do feel good. Otherwise, it's just...may the best player win. Me again. And that feels good too.

If I am competing against other cheaters, then I feel somewhat justified in cheating. If I am competing against people who play fair, then no, I don't feel good about cheating. In fact, I know that I didn't really win.

If you're a competitive person, like myself, you wouldn't like or feel the need to cheat. If you cheat, how can you truly know, how good you are at something?

It depends what you win, if its a million pounds then yes, and if nobody else is hurt. But if its something that involves another person being upset as a result of it then i would feel bad.

No, I do have a conscience, It might have been too slow to care about the cheating but it does kick in eventually.
