It's a little late thinking about that now! You should have started on birth control pills a month ago! Then you could have delayed it!

When I was on the pill I was under the impression that you could take the next month without leaving the normal gap, and that would prevent your period.
As you are not on the pill already then I don't think that you can start and make a difference right now.
Not sure what you can do, I'm afraid.
You can still go swimming if you use tampons, they are fine for that. Though you'd want to change a tampon pretty soon after getting out of the water. I usually use towels but used some tampons recently because I was on holiday, and swimming. Worked fine.

Even if you got the pill it wouldnt work. It takes 30 days of taking it for it to be in full effect, and you have to take it right after your period, not before. Just wear a tampon and cut the string really short so it won't come out. Change the tampon every hour. Don't worry, Ive worn tampons swimming before and had no problems.

You could have taken the contraception pill- if you take two packs in a row it will stop your period, but you've left it to late now i believe, as you have to start that the period before the one you want to stop. So unfortunately i don't believe there is anything you can do.
For future reference, yes i believe you do have to get the pill on prescription (may depend on where you live) and you should discuss with a doctor what you want it for- such as trying to stop a period for a holiday, because they would advise you on what to do.
Have a good holiday.

if you go get the pill now, your period may stop sooner than normal, but it would have been better if you were already on the pill so you could just start the new pack instead of skipping a week of pills to have your period, but it's too late for that, just go to your Dr. or a Health Dept. and tell them your situation, they should help you but I doubt they will put you on birth control just to stop your period. You may need to change your holiday dates if it's that big of a deal or just wear tampons, good luck girl

How old are you? If you don't know about the pill, then I'd say you're too young to be on it! And you can only delay your period, if you're already taking it, you've left it too late.
And, if you don't realise that with the invention of tampons, you can still swim, jump, run etc, then you really are too young, and I'm worried just how early you've started having period's!

Its too late now, you would need to have started taking the pill at the beginning of your last period, there are other tablets you could have taken but they would all need to have been started at the beginning of your cycle.
Yes you do need a prescription for the pill.

Actually if you are on birth control pills.. You can start a new pack when you are due for your period and you won't start until you quit taking the pills. So you're period will just be a little late. Have Fun

the only way you can stop you period is to take the pill without a break that means when you have finish 21 days continue using the second patch this will delay it and will miss that period for that month

the pill is prescription, so you would have to go to the doctor and get a pap and all that stuff which you probably don't have time to do before the trip.
there isn't anything other than that to stop it that i know of.
you might have to suck it up and use a tampon. just make sure you change it regularly when you go swimming so you don't spring a leak or anything.

Yes you can get something from Dr to delay periods for hols etc they don't mind and do it all the time, however you have to start taking it three days before you are due. It might be too late. Good luck and have a good hol!
