Georgia Tech came the closest in 1990. They won the National Championship in football, but they lost in the Final Four. Nobody has ever actually succeeded in winning both in the same year.

it will never be done because all of the school that are notorious for having great basketball teams year in and year out have football team that are horrible examples: Duke, Uconn UNC but if any team has a chance it is gonna be Pitt
