I recently bought this oil painting of woodlands from an art dealer. There's a signature of A. Rudant and a label at the back says it has been framed in Boulogue, France. The dealer could not give any more information. Can't find anything in google. The brushstrokes are not ameturish, but professional. Which leads me to believe that there must be more paintings by the same artist. Can anyone help me find more info about this artist?

hey Somdeep,

I looked around for Rundant and could not find him. I suggest that you go to a Fine Art dealer, auction or gallery, - via a phone call, internet IM, web site, or email. They should be able to help you better. Sounds like you have something good.

If A. Rudant was an important member of the impressionist movement, then the Louvre in Paris will certainly know something about him. He could of course have been a student of the period and not actually living at the time.

Only reference I can find of him is a French Victorian painting, Woodland, on e-bay. £4.00 at moment.
