wear lots of black, shop at hot topic, wear skulls and chains and sew patches on to everything.

It's not as hard as everyone's going to tell you. First rule of thumb- if you want to avoid being labelled a poser, do NOT buy entire outfits at Hot Topic. That's everyone's first stop- and you'll stand out as someone who bought a my first goth kit. Some stuff is easier to get there and they have delightful sales, but don't just pull an entire ensemble off the rack. Also don't wear anything you think isn't "you". If you're uncomfortable, it'll show.

You can probably do what you're doing now, but add a bit of silver jewellery, especially a choker; and buy clothing in darker colors and more indulgent fabrics (think silk, flowy cotton, and velvet). Learn how to do smoky eye makeup, and grab some red or raisin lipstick. Remember that khaki is the devil- but olive drab is ok for some reason, especially in baggy pants. A NICE coat will go a long way, too. A trenchcoat or formal longcoat will goth up any outfit.

You may well get teased if everyone in your area thinks of you as a prep, but don't take it too seriously. Just feel good that you're not afraid to branch out and try new things. Have fun!

often using fact maximum Goths are Christian, and/or like the darkish and morbid experience of the Christian faith using fact of what passed off in medieval cases. some would be atheists and nevertheless like the bypass. Satanism is infrequently affiliated with the Goth lifestyle in spite of the fact which would be. Satanists tend to be apayrt of the Metalhead/Deathrocker scene extra so than Goth.

Most often the goths at my school don't have the dark make-up (except for some dark eyeliner) and stuff like that.. They just wear black clothes and usually fishnets, with chains and things like that. And they have the big earring holes.. Good places to go to buy these clothes are Hot-Topic, Spencers

First, go to goth.net. If you are really interested in goth, then shop around and buy what strikes your fancy - there's no gothic dress code. If, however, you just want to look spoooky and impress people, I would advise you to keep to the pastels.

If you are a prep, and you want to go goth, thry preppy goth, like what you would normally wear, but in black, black long sleeved polos with a white cami and dark jeans, and stuff like that. don't go overboard with it, like with huge baggy pants and lots of skull jewlery. one ot 2 chains are fine, on your neck, not on your pants, and no extreme makeup. go smokey eyes, and clear gloss. if you look like a late stage drug addict, you've gone too far. the point is to look cute, not scary, because your transition is going to be hard. from preppy to goth
