Why is it that I feel this need to want to help people, even the people who have hurt me.

Join the club, I do it all the time, end up been hurt and used but for some reason go back out there and let it happen again, some people are takers and others are givers, I don't want to be a nasty bitter person who is never prepared to help others, so I will carry on been who I am but just try to be a bit stronger.

It maybe because you are trying to avoid your own issues. By helping others we become distracted from what is going on in our own lives. Perhaps issues that are too painful to deal with right now. The problem with helping everybody else, is that if you do not receive something back you become bitter and resentful. The best way to deal with this is to create a balance. There is nothing wrong with helping others, just make sure you allocate some time to your own life and your own problems.

Because you're a genuinely nice person and you probably realise that people only hurt you because of the inadequacies they feel in themselves, you should probably be aware though that you are only helping them to fill some kind of empty spot in your life... or something of the sort.

you are a push over......You should help people and forgive however you need to be firm and not let the same thing happen twice....good that you are giving....great quality just be strong or you may get ran over.
