I have a 90 Toyota Celica, ST (4AFE) Auto, and I just put a new motor in it. I got it to run for about a half hour, then it just died. I couldn't get it to run again for a few days, then got it to, and it ran for about 30 mins again, then, when I stepped on the excelerator, it stalled, and now wont start. The starter works, because it's new too. There's no problem with the Fuel Pump, and other than that, I can't figure out the problem. If any mechanics have any ideas, please help.

check the coil and ignition module these will get hot and clip out until they cool and produce spark again

If you are doing the work, start here------->

Check for spark. Remove one of the plug wires and insert a screwdriver into the boot and hold it about 1/4" from alternator bracket, motor mount bolt etc, and have a friend crank the engine. If you have spark, and it still won't run, check for the injector pulse. There are several ways to do this, but the smartest way is to purchase a "Noid" lite at the parts house. Insert it into one of the injector connectors, and crank the engine. If the light flashes, there is pulse. If there is no light, there is no pulse trigger.
NOW you have some information to work with.
Purchase a decent repair manual for the car, and go to the performance or emissions or engine management section, and follow the trouble tree for finding the cause.
I just checked the ASE website for pattern failures like this for your little car, and there is no "magic bullet" for the repair. There are too many things that could cause an intermittent failure, and you are just going to have to eliminate them one by one.
The "Noid Lite" should be < $8.00, the manual < $20.00, and if you like, a spark tester < $5.00.
