For some people, the holes start closing after they do not wear earrings for awhile. Mine do that, but once I start wearing earrings regularly again, it's not as bothersome.

After not wearing earring for that long your holes may be closing up. Take some neosporin and rub on your ear holes and clean your earring with a good cleaner then try and put you earring in your holes. It might be that you have to get used to them all over again. Good Luck to you and your earlobes! This happened to me but I only had mine out 1 1/2 months...

they probably hurt because you haven't had them in your ears for a while. So, your ears are probably forming a scab from your earing, and another possibility could be that your holes in your ears have started to close up. So, try as hard as you can to keep your earrings in for a couple of days, and maybe get some ear cleaning solution that you use when you first get your ears pierced, just in case they get infected. Just need to get used to them. Hope this works!!!

Your hole for the earrings started to close. You have to wear them awhile again to stretch them back out. You may also need to sterilize the old earrings if they have sat for awhile. Silver does tarnish.

I would clean them with alcohol. Also, try wearing some that have surgical steal posts and are hypoallergenic.
