I need to make a submerene that floats and sinks and then floats again (without me touching it) and i have no idea how that would work out...

lets c ok ! so i can tell u a sabmarine that con float on water but not in water ! ok i am givin my best try take 2 plastic bottle join them (stick them on d the back side dat is broad side )roll a tissue paper on it by applying gum then paint the model
stick a small bottle ESTand stick it on the upper side roll tissue again and paint it then take some straws paint them silver for giving steel pipe effect. decorate it . I HOPE IT WILL FLOAT AS THE PLASTIC CAN FLOAT SO THIS MUCH I CAN HELP ALL THE B

Go to buy a toy submarine and see if they works.
Read the reference book 'How things work' to study it's engineering .No, it will be too big a project for students to do.

For a science project? That is impossible unless you have a way to put a straw in it then blow. Hmmm...you should talk with your SCience teacher.

Look up 'Cartesian Diver". It works sort of like what you are describing. You could make it look like a submarine and get an "A"!!!!!!!!!
