On DVD: Home Alone 1 and 2. Planes Trains and Automobiles and Home for the Holidays if there are no kids.

At the theaters there will be Santa Clause 3. Deck the Halls, and Happy Feet.

it's too early to ask what movie to take the kids out to at thanksgiving, since movies rarely last longer than 3-4 weeks in the theaters. ask again a week before the holiday to be sure the movie that's recommended is still out there! if you're looking for something to watch at home, get "a christmas story". good family movie, and since thanksgiving weekend is the semi-official kickoff of the silly season, it's a good warmup.

If "mild peril and rude humor" in a PG/animated sort of way is more what you're going for, Robin Williams stars in Happy Feet, which is released the week before Thanksgiving!

Anything that will make you laugh and make everyone sit doen together. Home videos always makes us all remember the good and bad. But if you don't have those, Meet the Parents or another comedy would do.
