someone please help me. i don't understand this to this extent. x.x

There are five balloons: CO2, O2, He, N2, CH4
Each are filled to the same volume at 25°C and 1.0 atmosphere pressure wit hthe pure gas indicated.
A. Which balloon contains the greatest mass of gas? explain.
B. Compare the average kinetic energies of the gas molecules in the balloons. Explain.
C. Which balloon contains the gas that would be expected to deviate most from the behavior of an ideal gas? Explain.
D. Twelve hours after being filled, all the balloons have decreased in size. Predict which balloon will be the smallest. Explain your reasoning.

i think i know how to do a little bit of it and i started to, but can i compare answers with someone on this? >.<
thanks to anyone who can help. :]

(A) ... CO2 ... each balloon contains the same number of molecules:

PV = nRT .... => nR = PV/T ... in each balloon, pressure, volume and temperature are tha same ...
"n" is the "number of moles" ... and "R" is a scalar
multiple whose 'precise' meaning I'v e forgotten

#moles is proportional to #molecules

molecular weight of CO2 = 12 + 16 + 16 ...
the other molculews are all lower molecular weight =>

"CO2" is heaviest

/******************************/
(B)
"average kinetc energy" of the gas molecules is the same in all balloons ... this is the definition of temperature
\

/******************************/
(C) .... dunno for sure, but I would say CO2 since the non-symmetric structure of the molecule is .. nahh, I'm just guessing on this one

/******************************/
(D) the helium ballooon would be smallest since its molecules are simmply single atoms ... and the 'smallest molecules' pass least impeded thru the balloon walls...

and helium is inert, and would not 'bind' to anything in the balloon wall

A. Since they have the same volume at the same pressure and temperature, the number of moles of each gas must be the same. Thus, the most massive balloon is the one with the most massive molecule. Just find the molecular weight of each one.
B. Since the gases are all at the same temperature, and temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of a system, they all have the same average kinetic energy
C. The ideal gas is just a particle with no mass. So the gas that deviates the most will have the most mass
D.There are tiny holes in anything, including balloons. The gas that will sneak out the most will be the one with the smallest particles.

I have no idea, but I can guess! Here are my guesses.
A. The CO2 balloon. The balloons will have equal numbers of particles in them. A particle of CO2 is more massive than a particle of other gasses.
B. I don't know. I'll guess that at the same temperature they're all moving at the same speed. Kinetic energy is one half the mass times the square of the speed. Since CO2 has the most mass, it'd have the most kinetic energy too.
C. Depends on what your balloon is made of! If it's rubber, than He would deviate from the behavior of the ideal gas. He can pass right through a rubber balloon -- hardly ideal behavior!
D. Wow, you did use rubber balloons! The balloon with the He in it will be the smallest. He is the smallest molecule particle and can pass most easily through rubber balloons!

the element is, is that my poetry sells and is being printed in an anthology at present. it is nice for not something tripe, that doesn't echo in the literature international. you're able to insult my artwork, yet permit's see the place i'm very quickly, and who out human beings, is extremely a fulfillment.
