Because women dont play professional football.. They play in women leagues which are not the same.. unlike the NBA, now i havent seen any women ref's there but there are a few in the college level..

In football how come there are no girl referees?
Because they will be looking at what the cheerleaders wearing and miss an important penalty.

It would take a very tough woman to ref in pro football. She would have to stand up to (and that includes breaking up fights between)very large, sometimes over 300 lbs, very aggressive and pumped up football players. Not to mention referees get run over almost on a weekly basis. I don't think there is any rule that says a woman can't ref, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. There is just too many opportunities for them to be very very injured.

"girl" referees or women? Your question suggests girls (i.e. 5-10 yr old.) There are no women who are referees because they have to work up through the college ranks. It is not like they pull you off the street and you become a ref.

In the pros its a mans game, played by men, run by men and refereed by men. Women just havent broken into it yet. Give them time. There in the broadcasting part of the game now.

you have 400lb + linemen coming at you, I doubt a 120lb woman would want to get in the middle of all that.
