You're a thinker and emotionally strong. You tend to be rational about most things in life, and are the figurehead of any group or family unit.

Some strong, silent types have quietly contributed a lot to society but they usually don't get the acclaim they deserve. Sometimes they can have a dry, cutting wit but they reserve it for appropriate situations. Another word for what they are is 'stoic'.

Ignore the idiotic, sarcastic answers.
I think the Strong, Silent Type is a compliment as it indicates that you are trustworthy and reliable not to blab about peoples' personal things. Long may you stay so.

Mmmmm - I generally would interpret that (from my girlie point of view anyway) as you not being real chatty/talkative, reserved meaning private, not one for sharing you/details about you quickly or easily, your trust is earned :o)
Personally I think it can be both a good and bad thing - don't let them think your stand offish but don't leave yourself too open either, be you. If they like you and want to get to know you they will know and understand that it's well worth the wait.

i get told this a lot, basically what it means is that the other person is insecure about the fact that you dont feel the need to talk and you are comfortable with yourself and secure enough to just be silent....as stupid as it sounds this actually freaks people out as they cant assess you...thats what it means by you being strong....ie strong minded. Take this as a compliment and if it was from the opposite sex then they probably do fancy you.

The implication is that you do not speak unless you have something worthwhile to say, and consequently do not makea fool of yourself by making small talk that reveals your weaknesses. Essentially, humans generally make small talk to fill the awkward gaps, in order to make someone like them. A strong silent type is very confident in themselves and needn't bother doing so, speaking only when they must. They therefore appear powerful.

The person who said it to you said it admirably. It's a complimentary phrase.

i get called this SST as well and i totally agree with 'old but still a child' answer. She could be describing me!!. Another way of saying this is that 'still waters run deep'. still waters usually run deep and this is a way of saying that on the surface, you might seem quiet but when the time comes to show character, you shine.

It means that a secret is safe with you. It means that you keep your own counsel. It means that you donot give out information or that you share a lot. Not into small talk. It means that I could tell you a real funny joke and you would not even smile.

You're one of the good guys...someone very reliable, dependable, steadfast, etc. You'll be a very good husband, although you won't do much talking in the relationship. You WILL be very much in LOVE with your wife and any children you have together. I've been very happily married to my SST for 34 years!
