People can look back in time and possibly (if they chose to) learn from others mistakes. This rarely happens because every one thinks that they know everything!

There not. I mean you could come up with some great philosophical answer to explain it, but they are both there own disciplines, Soc based on human observation and pack mentality, where history is told in the eyes of the winner/ruler.
