look back at history , everybody has jumped on the band waggon these days about global warming, toxic fumes etc, its about time people woke up to the facts, eventually we will return to the ice age, even you must have realised that (everywhere) in this day and age is getting warmer. reason; the world is turning on its axis now just picture this axis for a moment it has its own movement/revolution or whatever you like to call it, it is moving it is going more lateral every year but it is moving ever so slightly in other words it is lying down a little more each year, there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it, we just have to live with the situation and we will. our earth here in Britain is definitely getting warmer or some say the seasons are changing even the polar icecaps are melting, there are parts of the world that are getting flooded that have not been flooded before well not in our lifetime anyway and that was nothing at all to do with toxic emissions from vehicles, it is the way the earth is turning on its axis, I could go on but it is time for bed goodnight sleep tight and don't worry nothing too badly will happen for a few million years.

Buy studying ice core samples scientist can view into the past and determine what might have caused changes in the climate many thousands of years ago. They have said that there have been many changes. There were hot spells then cold ones. Man has the ability I believe to create much more pollution than mother nature can handle. Once the earth is uninhabitable it will be too late. The future is looking a little grim. I believe that modern man is changing the climate but little seems to be being done fast enough to stop it. I think we should give an American Indian a voice in the matter. They were experts on global warming. They never did anything that would harm mother nature and they only used what they needed and their lands stayed pristine for humans and wildlife. I know its a stretch to say we could go back to the way our ancestors live but what price are we willing to pay for the convenience of modern society? Another place you could look to see what might happen is Venus. It has greenhouse gas gone out of control with a global warming effect.

One thing is for sure we are in a post glacial / pre glacial time which means that over the next couple of thousand years things will be to a greater extent warm. Exactly what effect carbon emissions are playing is not completely certain, the time span to accurately observe is too short in our lifetime, However in about 60,000 years we will be in the depths of another ice age, our contribution could delay this by a few thousand years.
Lets face it, the fossil fuel we are burning was created over many hundreds of thousand years so it was here already we are only converting it back to its raw state, trouble is we are doing it at a far faster rate than it was created. Remember your science... Matter can neither be created or destroyed.... in our very short span here on earth we have to put up with our own stupidity... nature has millions of years, make our 4 score & 10 look daft..

With absolute certainty, we can't know. A scientific understanding, though, lets us do experiments, gain knowledge, and use that knowledge to make predictions. Experiments prove that carbon dioxide and other gases have a "greenhouse" effect which leads to increased temperature of the atmosphere and the earth. Data collected in a number of ways shows that the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has been increasing. So, we predict that the global temperature will increase. There are lots of other things that indicate that is already having an effect: melting of glaciers, changes in weather patters, and so on. All of these and many more things are occuring because the global temperature has increased already, and will continue because the temperature will continue to increase.
Hope this helps.

You could say the same thing about the weather - but millions of people still tune in every morning to find out what to wear.
The question is, can you trust the majority of data to be accurate?
Sometimes the weather forecast is wrong, most times it's right.
Should we gamble with the future because the forecast could be wrong?

We guesstimate based on previous data but what we don't know, because of the low length of time of our data compared to the overall length of time of which we have no records at all, is just how cyclical the changes are. For example, did it get hotter after a period of 6000years and then get colder? That kind of thing.

Am not sure. But the if the rest of the wprld lived like we do in the uk it would take upto three planets to sustain us. It's only because some people live in such poverty that the planet can sustain our demands.

We don't know for certain, but we use modern events to base them in models (commonly known as simulations) to predict future events.
