The vagina narrows down a few inches back in the uterus. This is called the hymen. A tampon or small object can get thru. When an erect penis enters the lining is streched until it tears which usually causes minor bleeding. Once it is torn entrance is made easier as time goes on. Hope this helped!!

Hymen has an opening that is just sufficient for the menstrual flow to move out but not sufficient for the willi to get in.

The hymen doesn't block the uterus, it's just a small, thin layer of tissue which surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening and is usually crescent shaped. And just because someone is a virgin doesn't mean it's intact. Any number of things can "break" it.

The hymen is a thin, membranous tissue that encircles the entrance of the vagina. It does not completely block it or close it off.
