without buying a packaged costume what would i put together??

Ok, for a vampire, get anything black, black jeans, pants, white shirt, black shoes, get an outfit like a tux...a black jacket or vest of anykind...a cape? I dont know where you are going to get a cape. You could get a few things from a thrift store or a costume store. Also a red ribbon from a craft store to make some kind of medallion with a broche. Do the whole make-up thing too, white face, a little black 'low lights' around the cheek bones.
For a devil, you might have buy stuff, pitch fork, horns, tail..you could wear a long sleeved red tshirt, black pants. Im sure red one's will be hard to find. Maybe you could be a "devil in disguise". Horns, tail, pitch fork, red face, black goatee, but put in regular clothes, or like a trench coat and maybe those glasses with the nose and moustache??

well, vampires have black capes w/ velvet red on the inside, a black vest over a nice white shirt, nice black pants or long skirt and black shoes and vampire teeth. as 4 the devil, i dunno. happy halloween! :D
