If you do have to pay for this, then yahoo have forgotten to charge me 6 times. It is likely that idea is wrong.
Log in to your yahoo mail on the web, and select options, (Top Right).
Select Pop access and forwarding. middle column, halfway down.
Select "Yes, I do want pop access"
You will then go through a few simple screens to set it up and confirm your settings. It will then give you a list of the settings you need for outlook. very straightforward.
That should do it.

LOL i had the same problem in the account setting go to properties and then the server tab at the bottom there is server requires authentication you need to check that box and then click settings and set ur yahoo id and password that should sort ur prob out....

You will need to Pay yahoo for that service.... as part of their premium yahoo mail account. Then make sure to follow the Yahoo Mail Options for the mail server information.

I had a lot of trouble when I first came to Yahoo with signing in and with the password.
You want to have a word yahoo central, write them and tell them your trouble.
One thing you don't leave your Caps lock on do you,Ive done that.ok best of luck.

Actually, you CAN get your free Yahoo mail with your Outlook using YPOPS...

Unfortunately, it's not compatible with the new Beta of Yahoo mail - so, if you're using the Beta, you have to switch back to the old version...

For you to use outlook to read your messages you usually need to pay for the service, No Longer!
You need to download Ypops! from

Install, Then go here to find out how to set it up properly, Click on the one that applies to you.
