I wonder how do I look up stocks symboles that are traded on multipile country stock markets.
for exemple.... GVLGF.PK is also traded on the canadian market.
but under what symbol ???
also SHI is chinees stock traded here in the US. but how can i check its performance/ symbol / etc on its local chineese market ???

It is not too difficult. Go to yahoo finance and do a search on the name for SHI, Sinopec. In the drop down box select "world markets" rather than U S and hit enter. All the markets where the stock is traded will be displayed along with the symbol for that market. It is traded in Munich as SGHJ for example.

Other than general availability, like Yahoo Finance, if you want access to an exchange, whether foreign or not, you have to be a member of that exchange or have an agreement with that exchange, or an agreement with someone that has an agreement with that exchange.

There are over 470 foreign stocks listed on the NYSE, and more recently others on the Nasdaq, as ADR's (American Depository Receipts).
