i do not think so, i was in August and i saw not to many Spanish people

No, but...A lot of Puerto Ricans moved to NYC throughout the last half of the 20th century. As you probably know, PR is a U.S. territory, and Puertoricans can legally come to the U.S. to live and work. They are basically considered U.S. citizens.
