It's called Linea Nigra it's defined as a line of increased pigmentation running down the abdomen from the belly button to the pubic area during pregnancy. It isn't present in non-pregnant women.

Here's a link to the Wikipedia entry about it:

Some women do get it there is an actualy technical term for it, I've never heard anyone refer to it as a line of pregnancy but there could be a number of names people use. As far as I know you only get it when you're pregnant. Pregnant women get discoloration anywhere while pregnant some even on their face. I can't remember if I had it with my first two pregnancies. But I'm going to keep an eye on it this time lol. Most women do get it though.

Your pregnant!! Ring your surgeon and clarify what befell and that they are going to do you a attempt yet i'm fantastically specific you would be pregnant. the suitable comparable element befell to me on the two my pregnancies! you're probable very early, perchance purely 2 or 3 weeks so your hcg ranges would be relatively low. yet alongside with your urine being extra centred the 1st wee of the day there exchange into adequate to stumble on. attempt back tmoro morning i'm specific the attempt would be helpful. neglect appropriate to the sparkling blue digital, i think of they are crap. identity attempt the 1st reaction or the sparkling blue generic assessments. i found out i exchange into pregnant over 3 weeks in the past, we had a test final week and that i'm purely in basic terms 5-6 weeks now so it in basic terms detected it relatively early. the probabilities of having a 'pretend' helpful are so low, they are detecting being pregnant hormone and would't stumble on it no be counted if it is not there, except you latterly miscarried or are on any hormone therapy. Please replace this once you have your being pregnant shown! Wishing you each and all the superb :)

OK girlfriend here is a website that you can go to and get questions from the pros.http://sheknows.com. As for the question of the line, it is caused from the release of hormones. It is from nothing else and yes it is natural and not all women have it but about 90% do. Go to the website and get any question you want to know more about pretaining to you and your pregancy. G-d Bless the child.

It is something that occurs during pregnancy, but not everybody gets one. I forget what it's called, there's a different name for it. I think it's caused by the pregnancy hormones. I never got one.
