Do NOT deposit that check or attempt to cash it.

The check is counterfeit and you will be arrested.

Many large companies have been the victim of scammers who use their bank account and routing numbers and then print up batches of checks using their information. Once you cash the check, the scammers ask you to send them money via Western Union for a clearance fee or tax of some sort. Then the company whose account number they used eventually notices and files a police report and you get arrested.

Look for a routing number on the bottom of the check along with any other numbers that should appear like the check number. Also find if it says anywhere on the check if there is a water mark or security thread in the check. If it is a true check from a lottery commission it should have a security feature on it. Also if it says anywhere on the check if it is void, then its not real or good.

I also received one of those checks and I had it authenticated. When the check went through I called the number and told the people I thought it was a scam and they hung up on me, when I called the number was conveniently out of order. two days later my bank called wanting back the money. Thankfully I still had it.
Your best bet is to take it to your local police station so that we can stop these crooks from steeling people identities and hard earned money!

maximum in all threat this would be a rip-off, a phishing exercising to get your financial employer info, as a fashion to take advantage of your accound dry. first did you enter the lottery, from the way you're asking i will assure you probably did no longer enter this lottery which i'm beneficial is a rip-off. in case you haven't any longer paid a value to be entered right into a draw and characteristic no longer given out your digital mail handle to a lottery employer how are you able to anticipate to win? you would be unable to win in case you by no potential entered. so basically assign that to the trash can and forget approximately it! in case you have been asked for funds and or have furnish any financial employer info bypass on your financial employer and tell them and teach copies of all correspondence (emails) which you have. they could be waiting to pass your account and any status orders etc to a sparkling account variety after which hint the scammers to get any funds back that would have already been taken illegally out of your account. sturdy success!

If you DID NOT enter any lottery then of course NOT.. you don't win simply by BEING.

If YOU did enter then cash it in a bank that you do not do business with and pay a small fee for cashing it. The bank will then have to go after the check writer to get the money!

It's probably not. Read all the fine print on the actual cheque.

If you bought a lottery ticket at a store, they wouldn't have any way to track you or your address.

It's a scam. Read the article in the source below. It's fake.

the easiest way to find frauds is to look on the back on the check if there is any fine print where you are supposed to sign your name. if there isn't any fine print on it and there are rounting number and account numbers on it, i'd deposit it.
