We moved to a rural area and there has been a few mice in here.. We were told it is part of living out here. Our apt. is very clean and new. WE ARE MORTIFIED AT THE THOUGHT OF THIS. Do you know anything about this?? Also they are usually in shock from the cat, they just sit there when we put them out, is that safe or should we put them in the woods?

No, that is absolutely false. The landlord needs to get an exterminator in there immediately. Mice breed rapidly and you will soon have a major infestation. The fact that your place is clean has nothing to do with it. Mice are looking for a nice warm place to spend the winter and they can get in though a very tiny hole. Get some traps and bait them with peanut butter.

NOPE - it's NOT. They'll just come back into the house. If your place is new, it's weird mice would already be in there, but it is pretty common to have mice in a poorly constructed place. Glue traps are a not so messy and humane way to get rid of mice, but you pretty much have to take them for a serious drive if you don't want them in your house. Take some time to find out where they are getting in and plug the holes. They'll stop showing up before long. Enjoy that country livin'!

I live in the Mt Hood area in Oregon and mice are everywhere, it is very hard to keep them out, no matter where you live. All it takes is practically a pea size hole and the little bastards can come in. The best way of getting rid of them is one, finding the their entrance and sealing it. Also have a person come and spray pet friendly poison. Do not use Decon. It will kill your animals. Be very careful what you use, that is why I suggest calling a professional, but even they are going to tell you to seal up any holes that they may enter through. They are a pain in the butt, we call them little rat-bastards! Good Luck
