There is this guy my sister was seeing he left her because of his friends and has a girlfriend right now and the last time she calls his phone the girl answers and said that he does not want to speak to her. Then a fews months later he is calling to loan him 2500.00 he is in some trouble he claims. She has a soft heart now she is worried if it is something that will cost him his life but he is not saying what. I feel that he will not give her back the money and he is trying to get something off her.

He's using her kindness for weakness. If he has a g/f she should not have spoken to him in the first place. If he's gotten himself in that much trouble, let his g/f help him or he needs to be responsible enough to find a way to help himself. He made a mistake and should be calling her trying to make her feel sorry for him.

No, I would not loan $2,500 to an ex-boyfriend (or in my case ex-girlfriend since I'm a straight male but you get the point) without even knowing the reason.

Loaning money to friends usually gets you in trouble, and $2,500 is a pretty large amount.

Well, maybe, if it had been a long-term relationship and I was very sure the person was responsible, honest, and trustworthy. Even then, I would want to know what he/she proposed to use the money for, plus how and when they plan to repay me. And I would have them sign a written proof of the loan and promise to repay.

I know that sounds kind of cold, but if they are legitimate and trustworthy, they have no reason to object to these conditions. I don't think it's really unreasonable considering the dollar amount. I'd ask nicely of course, but I'd make sure (nicely) that I got the information and a written agreement to repay.

I understand how your sister could still care about him and want to help him get out of trouble, but money can come between people, and she is taking a risk that he won't repay her, which would probably be very hard for her financially speaking.

Well first of all i think this is a great question to ask. I agree with you about that. Well since he already has a girlfriend, why can't he just ask her instead of your sister? I think your sister even if she still has feelings for him. She shouldn't give him $2500 dollars. I bet that he will not pay her back. He will maybe say, i forgot or something dumber! So tell your sister not to give that much or any money to him. Becuase he is a loser. And a guy with nooooooo job. I would tell him, " GET A LIFE + JOB! So yea Hope to see you get an answer!

If he has another girlfriend then let her give him the money. She should just simply say that she does not have to lead. She should not worry about him.Remind her that he is not with her,and his girlfriend might be the one that told him to get some money off of her.I would not do it,or nor would I trust him.She is a fool if she does it,because she will not get the money back. Now if she has money to throw away then do it.

Tell your sister she is making a huge mistake if she loans him that money. Friends should never lend money to each other, and this clown is not even a friend, so forget it. If she loans him the money, she won't see it again.

You are right. He is using her. He probably just wanted some money to spend on the new girl. Your sister can kiss her money good-bye.
