Coming from a girl who went to a private Christian school, many Foster homes, and came from an abusive family, and a prior abusive relationship, I can say YES!!! Few people know better than I do.

I went to Catholic School for a while too...Those Nuns were mean!
Yes, my ex-husband was both mentally and physically abusive, and he very much tried to break my spirit. Anything I felt excited about or looked forward to, he shot down, and he often tried to make me feel worthless. Well, he didn't succeeded! I got away away from him and proved that I could be happy and be very successful with my life.

Those wicked nuns! I went to a catholic high school too! Their kind of strict! But it was a boy in junior high school who made fun of me in grade seven. I became very self conscious about myself. It's hard to be a confused teenager and have someone point out all of your short comings. I saw him a few years ago. He didn't know who I was. I knew who he was though. He kept staring at me, and finally figured out who I was. He wanted to exchange numbers. That was out of the question! But he made stronger person. I never forgot him!

Yes all the time!!! Every time I go over to my dad's or his grandmother's / brother's house they break mine they don't understand me!!!! They say the things that I am into are bad and I am going to burn in hell!!! And I am just 16 years old who’s into the goth/punk subculture. And because of them I started to feeling worthless and I stated wanting to die at the age of 11!!! No one needs to have some in there family acting like that when a kid is in school and they have to put up with their class mates!!!!

I had a District Manager at a former job, tell me once, that the secret of his success was keeping the upper hand. He said, that he was very good at remaining personally unattached to his employees, and therefore be able to fire them at will. He was telling me this as advise. I don't believe in that type of management style, and I let him know that. From that point forward, any idea I had...any suggestion...any thoughts at all concerning my job...were wrong. Although, I had been forewarned so to speak, it caught me off guard, spirit wise.

The military does it all the time then they build you back up. It took years for me to really be able to really think and process information without over analyzing it. But I'm better now.

Of course! Not to play the victim role, but I still have people trying now. The key is to stay focused on you and not on them because if u do, they will have the upperhand

I had a husband that tried. I have triumphed and he is still dealing with the karma for what he did.
