Your doctor may suspect that you are carrying twins if your uterus grows more quickly or is larger than expected. However, twins usually are diagnosed by using an ultrasound exam.the doctor will see two gestational sacs (fraternal twins) it might take a bit longer to diagnose identical twins.

as soon as they check your hcg level because it will be extremely high and they also can tell by an ultrasound or when they check for a babies heartbeat!! Some can tell by your symptoms or the size!! Most women gain more weight faster than those that are only having a single baby!

Almost right away. Usually they do a trans vag ultra sound between 8 and 10 weeks. They'll be able to see both heart beats then.

At your very first ultrasound. I had mine at 5.3 weeks. It will also detect an ectopic pregnancy and make sure that the baby is in the correct place.

Good luck in your pregnancy.

an experienced one can tell at your first visit, either by listening for heartbeats or palpation. an u/s can also tell with a high degree of certainty at 8 weeks even.

It depends on how the babies are laying in the womb. Sometimes they can tell pretty quick. Other times, it is well into the pregnancy.
