He is in UK - so nuts to all you Yanks. Our buses work on diesel, not gas!

It's a sad fact of life that prices tend to rise. Back in the good old days, as well as getting a student grant, you have got your bus fares to college reimbursed, by sending a completed form to your local authority. Make sure you keep that bike locked!

Assuming you are in the UK, then fares have gone up due to the new pensioner fares scheme that came into force last year. Basically, pensioners now only pay minimal fares or even no fares at all with a special pass given to all over-65s.
So basically you are subsidising someone else's fares. It happened to me- my fare went up ny 30p, and I was forced to miss lunch somedays to help pay. And I had no choice about it either.

The Government does not regulate bus fares, be glad you have a bicycle to ride.
What are you doing at college, learning how to spell, I hope.

My guess is gas prices have something to do with your bus fares. As far as what is up with the government, I don't think anyone knows, not even the President.

That would be the Bus Company that raised the fares, I don't think you can hang that one the government.
