You are ignorant. Schizophrenics don't have many personalities. They have delusions, hallucinations and disorganized thoughts and behavior, but not many personalities. The disorder where the patient has many personalities is called Dissociative identity disorder (also known as Multiple personality disorder).

And no, a suicidal person with multiple personality disorder would not be treated like a hostage situation. It would be treated as what it is, a very ill person who needs medical help.
