What do you guys think is better and cheaper, building a PC or buying?

Edit:

Would it be bad if I got everything on the cheaperside? I' m mostly an Audiophile, so a good Audiocard is what I'll spluge on if I build, but yeah, I think the build is a good option, just is it bad if i go inexpensive with building? I know computers inside and out, just never built one.

Build your own. You will get more Hard Drive space, and a good video card. Also you will get quality RAM and a good power supply. Full systems always come with crappy video cards and cheap power supply and RAM. Cheap ram is the main cause of errors and random crashes, plus it slows down your computer. If you spend $800 building your own computer it will be better than most systems that cost $1500. And, if you buy a full computer you won't be able to play the recent games because you need a really good video card.

Building is usually cheaper, definitely. But what you need to consider is whether you have the expertise to build what you want or not. We built our computer, and it was about $500 cheaper, but it took a while and we got quite frustrated. I was trying to learn to build them. Myy husband fixed computers for a living and tried to teach me. Unfortunately, we had two very incompatible styles of learning. While we did save money, next time I'll probably buy a custom computer.

Probably you should ask yourself, is it worth saving a couple of hundred dollars/pounds/euros or whatever your currency is. Realize how much time is needed to complete the computer, whether or not you enjoy or know about building them, and what options you need and how difficult it is to get/install them.

Good luck!

When buying a PC you should always consider building from scratch. I have a friend who builds computers and he built one two weeks ago which was on sale in PC WORLD for £595.
He made it for about £350.

Building a PC is certainly cheaper then the branded ones.

Buy one, but you may not get what you want or have many problems with a factory built computer, I would build my own.
