Im thinking about starting a reading club at 4-H and Im looking for ideas. If you could send me a link to a good child play, or good reading books for a reading club, that would be great.
-Thanks

Not too sure what 4H means, being from Ireland with dif. grading of years/age groups.
If they're young or have a young reading age, Bassington-Stoke offer great learning support materials but in modern consepts like mobile phones/texting/modern interests.
For a stronger group, The Field by John B. Keane is a great learning curve, so too The Pearl by John Steinbeck. They've the hidden but not so-hidden parable/morale wrapped in genuinely interesting and real stories that don't patronise the best or most challanged readers. Plus, with their small length, they don't put the weaker readers off, and make it easy to reference points.
Hope this helped!

Reader's Theater is a really great way to get students involved with reading. There are many websites where you can download 'plays' at no cost: readinglady.com is the first one that comes to mind. The texts are usually stories the kids already know and by reading the play over and over again, they will increase their fluency and comprehension.
