Superstitions about the # 13. Same reason hotels don't have a 13th floor and airplanes don't have a 13th row. I can't beleive people are so afraid of a #!

because that was the date, in the 1300s/1400s when the Knights Templar were excommunicated by the Pope of those days, outlawed by the king of France, and arrested or killed. some escaped, but the order of Knights was no more.
