Well, First of all it all depends on what stage your cold sore is in. If it's just in the beginning stage, place an ice cube on the cold sore for approx. 10 minutes. This will take alot of the fever away. I do this a few times during the first few hours of knowing I'm getting one. This usually takes mine away. If not it seems to halt the full effects of the sore. There is also something at the store that is called lysine that you can put on it that will also hult a lot of the growth. Sorry there is no immediate miracle cure. But ice does help.

Here are some links to a site that helped me with my own cold sore problems. Since I used some of the methods outlined here, I haven't had a problem.

Outlines a bunch of cold sore remedies that work, both medicinal and home treatments:
http://www.coldsore911.com/cold-sore-treatment/you-can-heal-cold-sores-faster/

Entire glossary listing all of the best cold sore treatments compiled on to one web page:
http://www.coldsore911.com/cold-sore-treatment/ultimate-cold-sore-treatments-guide/

If the cold sore has already opened, then the ONLY medicine that will heal it faster is called Choraphor. None of the prescription medicines that I have ever used work as fast as this:

But that still takes 2 or 3 days.

That site is updated pretty regularly. Every time I go back there seems to be something new. Hope this helps!

Sorry- those will be around for days. Depending on where it is, try covering it , like if it's on your lip with lipstick or something.
