i often bleach my husbands hair but before i start i make sure under the chair he is sat on and all around him is protected by old towels and are door mat which is rather big, but more to the point be careful in what you do and you won`t have any mess to clear up.
if it is a permanent colour then it will be quite difficult, but if it was a temporary colour then try vinegar and blotting or a good carpet and upholstery cleaner, the stain should fade if all else fails then cover it with an item of furniture, buy a rug, or get a new plant in a pot to hide the stain. (out of sight out of mind) lol hope this helps.

Ok, I got Cinnaberry (reddish brown) on my pale green carpet. Here's what I did:

First I poured Hydrogen Peroxide over it. Blot it with paper towels.

That didn't work too well, so I put some hairspray on it. That did nothing.

Rubbing alcohol helped pick it up a bit. Pour it over the stain and blot it with paper towels.

I also tried OxyClean (powder made into paste). Dawn dish detergent, lemon juice, and OxyClean lifted quite a bit of it.

I still have a slightly noticeable red spot on my carpet, but it is MUCH better than if I hadn't done nothing!

Good luck!

My daughter went to school and now is a hairdresser but while she was in school........ She decided to do coloring for her friends and spilled a rather large blob.

I contacted professional carpet cleaners and they came out and looked at it and said there was nothing they could do - I would move a plant or something over it but it is in the middle of the carpet. They said if it had been plush carpet they could have cut the carpet and replaced the spot but this was very flat carpet cheap carpet

Seriously, I would blot it with Hydrogen Peroxide until I got most of it out. Don't rub it. Then blot the rest with bleach and color it in with the closest shade of a "sharpie" pen. You might be able to notice it because you did it, but other's probably won't unless the carpet is new or the owner of the carpet is impecibly clean. Good luck with that.

Good luck! It is a dye and therefore will most likely be permanent, seeing that your carpet can't grow it out like your hair does.
