Who were first: the Doors or Pink Floyd?

I believe the Doors came out in 65 and Pink Floyd came out in 69.
I prefer Floyd. No I dont. I think the first was Iron Butterfly.

Hard to tell which came first. The Doors were formed in July 1965 and Pink Floyd came on the scene sometime in 1965. I really prefer Pink Floyd (post Barrett era). I don't see where the two bands even came close to eachother in style let alone a little crossover.

i do think the doors were first ...........but pink floyd is the master......pink floyd kicks the doors ***....of course some of pink floyds songs are lame......the wall album is the best album ever made by anyone in my opinion....i never get tired of hearing it..i dont see much similarity in the two so i dont see how they might have ripped off each other apples and oranges if you ask me....also pink has a very interesting history the original lead singer is penniless living with his mother a complete nut .......saw it on true holllywood story check it out sometime.i have no idea who were the first psychadelic band.

The Doors were first, then Pink Floyd. I don't think the both are that comparable. The Doors were influenced by The Birds a bit. They compared songs at the time.

No, neither one ripped off the other, they both are very different, they may have gotten inspiration from each other.

The Doors released their first album before Pink Floyd released theirs.

I don't think they ripped each other off, their music is fairly different from onr another, and I can see how someone could think that.

My oppinion!
1)You can't compare them both you can only LIKE or LOVE them both
2)Both have the same cosmic energy which is flowing in their songs
3)The real psychadelia has Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett but one and only is the Lizard King and that is Jim Morrison !
