This is a good thing for America. Our civil rights will be restored and America will be a better place.

The republicans really smeared their reputation by defending sexual criminal predator Foley. Their true colors appeared.

I thought republicans hate gays and now a republican congressman is gay. Kind of a double standard dont you think?

It will be a day long remembered. It will see the end of the Republican majority, and will soon see the end of the conservative movement.

Let's hope, anyway.

I would not be so certain. As a diehard Democrat and one who is VERY involved in Texas politics, I have seen many things that I never would have thought could happen. Texas had been Democrat for many years and then Reagan came along and people switched parties and changed things here. This year we have seen a big shift back to the left, thank God. However, you can't count out the religious right and they way they will go out and vote. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of Democrats. Too many of them sit out elections and then complain about it when the results are less than satisfactory. If we cannot or do not prevail this time, I have no clue if we ever will. Please vote, if you can, vote early, take 5 people with you to the polls who are registered, and remember, October 10th is the last day to register to vote in Texas. If you need a ride to the polls, call your local Democratic Party office.

VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC TICKET!!!!

The problem is that we WILL take over the House, we MAY but probably will not win the Senate and we WON'T win the Whitehouse.

So this is what we are going to see over the next two years.

A House with Nancy Pelosi as speaker who will embarass the pants off of us with her socialist rantings. The House will pass bills but anything sponsored or pushed by Pelosi will die, if not in the Senate, by veto.

The Senate looks like it will end up 49 or 50 Republicans, 48 or 49 Democrats and 2 Independents. Unfortunately for us one of those Independents is Joe Lieberman who we, as a party, have just burned and burned badly. He has says that if he wins, and he is 10 points ahead of the Democrat, he will not forget the "Support" given to him in his primary against Lamont.

And most importantly, none of our bills worth passing will be able to stand up to a veto.

We ARE going to WIN. But we ARE going to be bigger LOSERS because of our winning. We would be better off being able to blame the Republicans for this mess until the 2008 election.

Now we will get nothing done and we will get the blame. And sadly this is because we turned out back on Lieberman and we put loser John Kerry up in the last election.

How I wish we had won in 2000 and then none of this would have happened!

On the spending front, the difference between reps & dems has been that, while claiming to be for smaller gov, the reps have made gov much larger than the dems claimed to have wanted, but couldn't pull off.

The reps couldn't get John Bolton into the UN. Nor would they even consider getting us out of the UN.

On the war front, the reps sang hymns, rather than declaring war (which would have been a temporary state of emergency protecting our civil rights long term). They cut off funding for nuke bunker-busters.

On the buz-front, the reps drag buz-wo/men before them to grill them on their practices, while they themselves signed 6000 bills last session (are we to believe they read them?).

I'm not voting democrat, per se, this time around. I'm voting against my republican senator & congressman. Hopefully, we survive the years when they are in, to vote [perhaps] again for a worthy republican.

I think it is funny but when you talk about how republicans are everything that they are supposedly against you get called a commie liberal. Maybe it is time to take back the churches that preach to vote republican, I didn't know Christ was a registered Republican. Take back the media and stop this Rep-Demo style
of reporting the news, We all have minds we can figure out what to think/believe on our own.
We really have to stop all this to make a real change you can read the bible and watch the news and figure out on your very own how you choose to vote. Personally I am insulted by the whole thing no one From the White House to your church to the very news you watch think you have since enough to come out of the rain.

I really don't think so.

The Democrats are not ready yet.

I will vote Straight Republican. And we shall see.

What I have noticed is all the liberals saying "cancel the election because we already won".

How about letting the folks vote then talk about it?

And whats wrong with being gay?

I think its you that has a double standard.

Democrats have always been the majority of freaks, pansies, cross-dressers, whiners, sissies, and mindless ranters. The party of 'tolerance' has yet to say a word defending foley's alternative lifestyle. Wonder why that is?

It will be good to see the balance of power shifted away from the right a little.
