When I was young, if you didn't have at least one Barbie, you may as well go and bury your head in the ground! You had to have one! (Or ten, or fifteen! lol!) Now, i realize that Barbie wasn't the hot chick that I thought she was. First of all, ethnic Barbie is a recent creation. Years ago, there was one Black Barbie that I saw. What about other ethnic backgrounds? Not much to choose from. And her body isn't realistic either. Barbie had many plastic surgeries! She's just a doll and shouldn't be taken too seriously but I wish the makers would consider what would be good for little girls to look at, play with and grow up with.

First, I understand that it is a lifeless toy and like all toys are inferior to the real thing. Secondly, it is the responsability of living beings to present correct living examples for children to emulate. Barbie is whatever the imagination of the one that owns or plays with it determines. That is why there are some that do not blame them for their problems and others that do. It is the person who needs to excuse their own failures or difficulties by claiming that the toy is the cause. My problems are a result of myself. If I think I am too fat or not as muscular as my action figures, the issue is within my own mind and not with those toys. I care less about if I am not like some lifeless object. in comparison to the living examples of which prevade my environment. Since Barbie is without sexual organs, it therefore cannot be in REALITY a slut, a whore, a prostitute, a mother, or any other sexual denoted name. To place those names on it is the direct result of the Fantasy choice of the human. Though it may not suit our standard of appearance, it does not have to be purchased by us. We have the power to choose to leave it on the shelf. Though many items maybe manufactured for this doll, it has only those things which the buyer chooses to purchase for it. Though stores have a huge supply of clothes and accessories for the female, no one particular girl or woman owns them all without all having been purchased from the establishment. You would not say that either of them has everything just because the designers have created those things which fit that girl or woman's size and style. One must maintain the boundary of REALITY from FANTASY.

If a real girl looked like Barbie, she would be over seven feet tall, unable to have children, and would have lots of digestive problems.
And if she is so popular, why do we have to buy her friends?

shes fine by me. when i was really small I always played with one and my self esteem is fine.
