This quote does not literally mean to fight with a pen against a sword. It is saying that those that are able to use words to their advantage will not even need a sword. Therefore it is mightier. If you are able to talk over things then you may find that a fight is not necessary. A quote our president could have made good use of.

I would choose the pen. Brains > Brawn. Its simple there are so many ways to disable a person with a sword. You could spray the ink in their face, stab their wrists, etc... Pen > Sword

Personally I would choose the pen to cause my opponents serious problems like getting the police to arrest them for assault, taking them to court to remove them of the property or other much more evil ways that could crush them and there family Bwahahaha!!!
PS I'm not this evil but you see the way the pen can be used as a weapon

that depends. in a face to face where I'm cornered, I would use what i can grab hold of, but in a big fight, like a feud or war, give me the pen.
