Buck O'Neil was a great story teller, ball player and human being. He lived a great life, so no one should be sad for him.

I own the Baseball Documentary by Ken Burns. He was one of the best characters in it.

Let's hope the Hall of Fame recognizes his contributions to Baseball and America.

Just read of his passing earlier this morning. Although I was not fortunate enough to have seen him play in the ***** Leagues he sounds like a wonderful man with great insight. I am certain he will be remembered somehow by baseball next season.

Alas, the Hall of Fame blew it by not putting him in while he was alive.

Yet he was not the least bit bitter.

He made sweet lemonade out of life's most sour lemons.

Surely he is in heaven on a unaimous first ballot!

I had the good fortune to hear him speak and meet him afterward. He truly was one of Baseball's angels.
