Well, downloading anything that is copyighted without paying is illegal. I want limewire, but I don't want to take my chances. If you get caught it's a fine of $150,000 per movie.

relies upon on what you acquire. there's a company observed as SafeNet, before MediaSentry, that video exhibit instruments uploaders (and once you utilize BitTorrent, you're importing and downloading on the comparable time). in the event that they see you importing something belonging to a minimum of considered one of their shoppers, they're going to decide who your ISP is, and deliver a DMCA takedown observe to them. Your ISP has a superb form of leeway as to what to do with that. in maximum situations they're going to easily forward you the e-mail they have been given from SafeNet, remind you of the words of provider (which consistently incorporate something approximately no unlawful document sharing) and ask you knock it off. they might droop your account in the event that they had to. Whoever SafeNet is working for (RIAA, MPAA, MAFIAA, etc.) can subpoena your ISP stressful to appreciate who owns the account linked with the IP handle they caught doing the importing. The ISP has to conform. And, they might sue that guy or woman. it somewhat is the place issues get gruesome. The RIAA has filed over 30,000 lawsuits, frequently against people who haven't any thank you to guard themselves, they attempt to get the defendants to settle for some thousand funds, many many instances the fee of the downloaded content cloth. I recommend you Google MediaSentry, and start up up interpreting from there. the truthfully danger which you will get in any actual worry is small. yet acquire at your individual danger.

limewire is not illegal. there are actually a lot of other shareware programs already out on the net that you can choose from. the only disadvantage on this is getting spywares/worms.

As long as you aren't sharing your files with other people the feds could care less about you. They really only care about the people who burn cd's and dvd's on to their computer's and then put them up for sharing. There should be a "make my files private" or "do not let others download from me" option.

It's legal because the rights come with the download. If does not come with the copyright (what makes it legal) then you download a blank file.
